Getting ready for June’s Relay For Life Kick-Off Event

Event Date: February 23, 2010

Relay for Life is holding a kick-off celebration event at the Upper School campus of the Montclair Kimberley Academy, 6 Lloyd Rd in Montclair on Tuesday evening, February 23, at 7:30 p.m.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight event to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. The Montclair Relay for Life event will take place in June at Brookdale park where teams of people will spend 12 hours taking turns walking or running around a track or path.

Everyone – families, friends, neighbors, anyone – is invited to the Kick-Off Party.

New Jersey Bicycle Summit

The New Jersey Bicycle Coalition, in cooperation with NJDOT, will host the first New Jersey Bicycle Summit in Denville, NJ, on Saturday February 27, 2010.

Tim Blumenthal, Executive Director of Bikes Belong
Jeff Miller, President/CEO of the Alliance for Biking and Walking

Cyclists throughout the state will attend, representing bicycle clubs, shops, advocates, retailers, manufacturers, and other interested individuals committed to safe access of cyclists to our state’s roads and trails. State legislators and transportation policy officials will also attend.

Earth Day at Essex Co. Environmental Center

Essex County Envrionmental Center’s 5th Annual Earth Day Celebration

Saturday, April 17th from 11AM to 4PM.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Getting Back to Nature”. There will be several hands-on activity stations for kids as well as some new program additions that support the theme of fostering outdoor appreciation and activity.
