A Closing on Broadway Becomes Permanent

New York’s ambitious experiment that closed parts of Broadway to vehicles last spring will become permanent, city officials said on Thursday [February 11, 2010], even though it fell short of achieving its chief objective: improving traffic flow.

Relay for Life is holding a kick-off celebration event at the Upper School campus of the Montclair Kimberley Academy, 6 Lloyd Rd in Montclair on Tuesday evening, February 23, at 7:30 p.m.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight event to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. The Montclair Relay for Life event will take place in June at Brookdale park where teams of people will spend 12 hours taking turns walking or running around a track or path.
Everyone – families, friends, neighbors, anyone – is invited to the Kick-Off Party.

The New Jersey Bicycle Coalition, in cooperation with NJDOT, will host the first New Jersey Bicycle Summit in Denville, NJ, on Saturday February 27, 2010.

Essex County Envrionmental Center’s 5th Annual Earth Day Celebration
