This takes place on the last Friday of the month at 6:30pm and meets in front of the Montclair Public Library.

Bike&Walk Montclair would like to present opportunities to meet other cyclists and walkers in the community. In addition to our signature event, the Tour de Montclair, and the Last Friday of the Month Community Ride we would like to introduce our newMeetup.com group as a way to help facilitate group rides and group walks. Please read about how you can get involved with our Meetup.com group below.
Bike & Walk Montclair has created a Meetup.com page in order to help members of the community create and organize biking and walking events. These gatherings can be organized by anyone, not just a BWM member. The website committee felt it would be helpful to encourage more involvement in the community. This will be an easy way to learn about the ride/walk meetups being held throughout the greater Montclair, NJ area. Any member of this Meetup.com group can suggest a ride. If 3 people agree to it, then it will be published to the calendar. At times, an organizer of Bike Walk Montclair may post an event as well.
Please let us know if you would like to lead a group ride or have a suggestion for a ride by signing up to become a member of our Meetup.com group and posting an event.
Our vision is to have Montclair be a walkable, bikeable, and livable community where all modes of transportation exist in a balance, and participants in traffic respect each other and behave with courtesy. Beyond the big annual events, and our weekly committee meetings, many of us enjoy getting together and going on group rides or walks. We will begin to post the places, times, and duration of these get-togethers through our Meetup.com group. So if you are interested in getting some exercise, fresh air, and meeting new biking/walking enthusiasts, be sure to RSVP and sign up for our new Meetup.com group.
The Bicycle Touring Club of New Jersey
In addition to Bike&Walk Montclair Meetup.com group rides, The Last Friday of the Month Community Ride and other rides that we will be posting on our calendar, we are including a link to The Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey.
The Bicycle Touring Club of North Jersey (BTCNJ) has over 1,300 members and is one of the largest cycling clubs in the Northeast. BTCNJ has a year-round schedule of club rides, tours and social events. In 2010, they offered more than 1,000 club rides, and 20 multi-day tours, both international and in the US.
