The Tour de Montclair, a family-friendly bike ride with 6- and 12- mile options, begins on Glenridge Avenue and takes riders through the 4 wards of Montclair, highlighting parts of town not easily seen by car. Riders cruise by the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens and Nishuane Park, pass the Montclair Art Museum and much more. Live music along the route will encourage riders along the route. Riders are invited to enjoy the sights at their own pace – fast, slow or anywhere in between! The ride ends back at Glenridge Avenue where participants can celebrate at the Open Streets Festival.
The Open Streets Festival, presented by Schumacher Insurance, is part of a national movement to “open” streets for walking, jogging, bicycling, dancing, and socializing, free from traffic. Montclair’s event will include music, children’s activities, food, sustainability displays and parklets – mini urban public spaces designed and built in parking spaces!
The Open Streets Festival is free and will be held from 10:00am – 3:00pm on Sunday, October 2. The Tour de Montclair requires registration and will be open for check-in and registration at 8:30am with the ride starting promptly at 10:00am.
